We managed to find a couple of negative comments about Moosejaw but these do not match the experience of 99% of consumers which we always find quite suspicious ( could it be competitors leaving poor remarks? ).

When we compare product prices to include a link to products we are reviewing Moosejaw beats many of them. If you find the same item you purchased being sold elsewhere within 24 hours of your original purchase, Moosejaw will credit you for the difference ( take a look at the website for more details).

Moosejaw state if you aren't thrilled with your purchase, return it at any time as long as its in re-sellable condition. It does cost to make returns unless taking the goods back to the offline store.

Rei Outdoor Store

Most outdoor enthusiasts are more than aware of Rei being one of the biggest gear and outdoor clothing stores in the US that has a history dating back to 1938.

Rei outdoor stores are found all over the US and more widespread than many of the other gear and outdoor clothing retailers which gives those that live close to a Rei store the opportunity to check gear out before making a purchase and deal with returns/exchanges are easier.

Rei.Com the online outdoor clothing store has a massive supply and choice of outdoor clothing gear brands that includes North face, Patagonia, Marmot, Arcteryx and their own line of clothing and other hiking and camping gear.

REI state a purchase is 100% satisfaction guaranteed, if not then return or exchange the goods by taking the item to any of the offline stores or by post to the specific address given on the invoice or website.

Many consumer reports give Rei 5 out of 5 stars for service and the ability to return products after purchasing items. Some buyers gave low ratings for the service given by Rei but overall comments are positive.

Altrec

Altrec.com is an online store that was started in March 1999 that competes well with stores like Rei and Moosejaw. Altrec will supply items that you may not find at Rei, Moosejaw or other stores and can provide a better price for certain products.

Altrec also have a 100% satisfaction policy or claim a refund/exchange from the life time guarantee !! It doesn't get much better than that. They will ship internationally but check out any restrictions.

Many consumer reports agree the prices are low when purchasing from the wide range of Altrec products and the service is great. There is definitely a conflict between how Altrec.Com deal with returns and out of stocks with one view being they're great and others having a very poor experience . However, we feel everyone has a different experience wherever they go and must try it themselves when the majority of consumer opinions are very positive.

Sierra Trading Post

Sierra Trading Post is a gear and outdoor clothing store that stocks brand named overstocks and closeouts that was founded in 1986.

This company has four retail stores, nine mail order catalog titles, and SierraTradingPost.com which is the online retail store that has 100's of bargains.

These offer free shipping on returnable items although restrictions apply that need to be considered.

Most consumers have nothing but good comments to make about Sierra Trading Post and should be checked out if you like to pick up great gear at the best prices.

Campmor

Campmor retail offline at a store in New Jersey and of course the popular online gear and outdoor clothing store Campmor.com.

These like the above outdoor clothing retailers stock all the top brands that could be worth comparing in price once you know the item you wish to buy. Campmor state; all merchandise in resellable condition may be returned for a refund within one year of purchase when accompanied by a receipt which is not quite as good as what some other stores offer.

Most consumers seem to give positive reports although a few do think they are more expensive than other outdoor stores.
