Merrell Men's Outbound Light GTX Boots
by Paul K
I bought these Merrell Hiking Boots the end of last year (2009) and have used them for a fair few hikes since.
I chose the Merrell outbound boots after comparing to other brands and found these were fine for my budget. I would have chose others if i had more cash but buying gear does get resticted at times because of cash flow.
I have not been disapointed so far, although I know to break the boots in before hiking i never really get to do this.
The first time out was for a 3 day hike, the boots were great as the weather was wet and i had to jump a few bogs. The boots stayed completley dry although they were a mess by the end of the hike which is all part of the fun.
Clambering up rocks and downhill was fine, usually I find boots can cause ankle problems (pain) when going down hill, but these were fine.
The second time out these Merrell hiking boots performed even better. They was really comfortable, which is why we are supposed to break them in.
Overall the boots are well worth the money, light enough and very comfortable whilst also offering protection from manmt terrains.
I would recommend these to a friend for a couple of days hike to a long hike. Well worth the money.
