Bear Grylls Raw Snake

This recipe is an experimental one that i created, the dish is a little strange but is one of my favourite camping meals i've ever eaten.

Ingredients: 1 wombok, honey, Salt, pepper, 250 grams of beef, 50 grams/teaspoon of butter.

Method: first, chop up the wombok finely into strips, put the chopped up wombok into a saucepan. Pour about 3 tablespoons of honey into into the pan and place it over the hot coals of the fire( to keep you safe, use a stick or shovel to break up the fire so the flames are not so high and won't melt the handle of your saucepan).

Simmer this for 3-4 minutes or until the wombok starts to soften. After this take the pan off the fire and add both pinch of salt and pepper. Put in the butter ensuring it is melting as soon as you put in the mixture( if not you will need to keep cooking the wombok to considerable heat to melt the butter).

Now throw in the strips of beef and put this back on the fire until the beef is lightly cooked ( overcooking beef makes most of it's flavour disappear).

Serve while hot in small portions as this dish can be quite sweet, due to the honey. ( if the dish is too sweet, next time, if there is a next time, don't add as much honey to the dish).

As I am a typical Aussie, i love my food, somtimes things can go wrong but that is just life. So remember, practice makes perfect. I hope all of you who have tried my dish completely loved it. Served 3-4 people.
