Black Diamond Headlamps Review

Whether pitching a tent late at night, or rummaging through gear on an evenings night to find that an item needed, a headlamp is one of the most effective, simplest lights we could use.

We found the Black Diamond Headlamps like the Spot LED Headlamp, Icon , Gizmo and the Sprinter all rated very well for various needs. Here's some of the best....

Spot Headlamp

The spot LED headlamp is equipped with one 1-watt LED and three 5mm Super Bright LEDs for brilliant brightness.

The 1-watt LED is housed in an updated reflector that makes the light project a bright, farther-reaching beam than the original Spot did.

It uses three AAA batteries with the battery compartment just behind LEDs to provide a compact design. The weight with batteries is only 3 ozs, so even the minimalist wont need to drill holes.

The maximum beam distance is 70 on high and 10 meters on low which will be more than enough for most lighting needs.

Icon Headlamp

Next is the Icon that's powered by 3 AA batteries or the NRG Rechargeable Battery (not included when bought) that has a three watt LED spotlight and eight various brightness settings.

When used with the NRG rechargeable kit, it can be used on full power without worrying about battery costs. The Black diamond Icon's battery power meter is dual purpose, displaying either a green, yellow or red LED that signifies either the amount of battery power left or the charging status of the NRG rechargeable battery.

The modes include the first setting which is a two LED diffuse light energy saving mode for working on things within 10 meters the second mode is a beam that will spotlight something over 100 meters away.

This is the brightest Black diamond headlamp available with the faceted reflector that maximizes distance of beam and offers up to 100 lumens on its highest setting. So the long and short of it is, it's pretty cool and bright.

The Icon has very little negative comments made buy users.
