Vango Sigma 300 Tent
by Carl P
(UK)
The Vango Sigma 300 - I purchased this tent two years ago with the intention of being able to use it for short camping holidays but also for festivals.
The reason I purchased this tent as opposed to any other was the fact that the outer could be put up first and then the inside be attached after as opposed to many which I had seen which involved the inner going up first.
This certainly proved a good plan when the first time that I had to put up the tent was in torrential rain. This tent proved its worth that weekend and although there was a small amount of condensation the guy ropes did their job and the tent stayed steady in the most awful of weather.
At festivals it provided a spacious sleeping area to sleep in and the front porch area was great space to sit and cook in safety whilst it was raining. The porch area on this occasion worked as an added storage space for our food box.
The tent also managed to bounce back with no damage after several people fell on it during the night. This tent is light, quick and easy to put up and is spacious inside. It is advertised as a three-man tent and although I have only had two people in mine, there was plenty of room for a third.
The tent has good ventilation inside and has the option of pulling the side vent open on the exterior of the tent if required. Overall I would recommend this tent to couples for short breaks, it certainly will not disappoint. For families with children I would consider the Sigma 300+ as this has a porch area on the front and rear of the tent, which would allow for more of a storage area.
