Kids love this but it is best to plan a site where something will be found or kids get bored easily. The actual campgrounds are places for good finds. An activity we had a great laugh with when on a lads stag camp trip was quad biking.It's kind of fun when you see you friend land on top of fence, without being harmed, of course! Children may have to be over a certain age, many quad biking courses may have age restrictions.

Treasure hunt is one of those cool traditional things to do while camping. There are many variations, you could begin by simply giving a card that instructs who is playing that a gift is waiting at the end of nine steps or stages. In the card you explain that the first step is to find a note attached beneath a table in the house. After searching beneath all the tables in the house, they discover a note that instructs them to find the northernmost tree in a nearby park, there they will find the next instruction tied to one of the branches etc. The process continues until they reach the final instruction which tells them where they can find the gift which needs to be hidden, but it can remain unwrapped if you prefer. This process can be extended indefinitely either by incorporating more steps, by increasing the geographic distance between locations, or by increasing the difficulty of solving some clue.

Trails for Hiking or Cycling are a great way to spend a day or two for camping activities. These websites provide many trails to choose from that may be close to your campground or you may want to plan your trip close to where you find a good hiking trail.
