Leatherman Pocket Knife Guide

Finding The Best Best Best Leatherman Knives for You

A review of the Leatherman pocket knife here will provide a guide to the best selling Leatherman Knives for the outdoors person.

The Company

The company name is well known by the outdoor enthusiast for the Leatherman Multi Tool it produces that gives a user more uses than a standard pocket knife, however, the company also has few Leatherman pocket knives worth taking a look for those that want a quality basic knife without all the extra tools.

The two ranges of pocket knives made by Leatherman is the Crater and Expanse series. Lets take a look at the best sellers and give you our ratings.

Leatherman Crater Series

This line of Leatherman pocket knife types have been redesigned to enable the knife to be lighter and a better fit for the pocket.

These still have tools that are handy, like a basic screwdriver and bottle opener/carabiner clip which we think is still useful to have when needed. The caribiner/opener is a nice touch for clipping the knife onto trousers or a jacket for easy access to open a bottle of beer after pitching a tent and of course other less relaxing uses.

The price range for the Crater Leatherman knives is from approx $20-$50 which is affordable and about average for a pocket knife. When searching for one of the Crater models online the C indicates the Crater series and the "33" or "55" means a medium sized or large blade.

Consumer reviews are overall very positive and give all this range 4-5 out of 5 star ratings on all models, which is encouraging for a buyer looking for a reliable folding knife.

Leatherman Expanse Series

The Leatherman pocket knife Expanse models are crafted from 154cm stainless steel that can keep their edge three times as long as regular stainless steel. These are similar to the Crater series in that have have the screwdriver and caribiner/bottle opener integrated into the knife, if needed.

These are slightly heavier that the Crater series when comparing each model size and have a stainless steel reinforced handle for added durability whilst keeping these Leatherman pocket knives slim.

Leatherman have left little room for complaint and consumer reports for this line of Leatherman knives reflect this. Most users find them well worth the money for the quality and give them the thumbs up.
