Coleman Sundome Tent

I have most recently purchased a Coleman Sundome tent that said it sleeps about 5 people. We took it on a family camping trip and quickly found out that 5 people means about 4 people comfortably.


Although we are slightly inexperienced campers (we just like to spend time in the outdoors with our family) the SunDome tent was really easy and fast to set up. A good thing too! It rained on us that night but we put the fly up and stayed warm and dry. We even stayed up late playing card games with the kids.

I think that was an experience that they will never forget. I have always liked the coleman brand tents. In my family we always take coleman lanterns with us and they have been very reliable for our needs. On our camping trips we don’t really need nice /fancy/ high-tech equipment, we just need something durable that will last us a while with 3 children.

I feel that the Coleman Sundome Tent met our needs. For me one of the important things was price. I paid just under $100 for out tent but most of the stores I priced high quality tents at were selling the same type of tent for $150-$300 depending on the tent brand.

We have gone through so many tents and the kids always lose the bag or the poles or the instructions. But the Sundome camping tent was so easy to put up and take down that I don’t think we have to worry about small pieces getting lost. And the instructions are sewn right into the bag! Now we will never lose them.

I really feel like I will buy Coleman again, they are a brand that relates to my family and my budget. My only request is that they sell this tent in more colors.
