Selection Of Campsites In Filey

The campsites in Filey I visited was the first part of my mission to visit and find the best coastal sites in England.

It took some driving and searching to find sites I could recommend to readers that I know many of you will love, especially the sea views.

About Filey

Filey is a small seaside town situated between Bridlington and Scarborough that offers a great getaway for those that like to camp near the coast with peace and quiet in mind.

The town is only a few minutes walk from the sea front that offers a small amount of places to eat, have a beer or to do a little window shopping for souvenirs and gifts.

A couple of campsites can be found close to the town if you need to be near a beach or town, however, the best are a few miles up the road.

Things To Do

Filey's a place that offers more of a chilled out way of doing things such as visiting the town, beach, a local restaurant, or a visit to the country park. The small town also has a golf course, museum, a bird garden and animal park and other local attractions or activities.

The country and coastal walks is one of the big attractions that stood out for me while camping in Filey, although time was limited to explore as much as I would have liked.

Scarborough, Bridlington or Whitby can also offer things to do and a good family day out which are a fairly short drive, just up the road, as we say.

You can hire a Filey Seaside Scramble Tracker Pack for £5 to make trail hiking more fun and interesting for the family.

Suggested Campsites

Filey and along the Yorkshire East coastal line is not short of camping sites, however, after driving in and out of many there was a limited amount that I wanted to include here that could offer visitors a great camp out.

Crows Nest Camping And Caravan Park

Crows Nest is the number 1 choice for this quiet coastal town which you can see why from the views found in the pictures, especially if your tent camping.

The site has its own bar, shop, dog walking park, kids play ground and of course their chip shop on site.

Filey Brigg Caravan And Camping Park

I came across the Filey Brigg site purely by luck after visiting a few other sites that I was disappointed with. This is a local authority run place but, don't let this put you off taking a look. It still has much to offer.

Two big selling points for me was having a café that cooks a pretty good breakfast and the price of a pitch.
