Check Out The Best Camping Cooler Models

It's important to choose the right outdoor camping cooler for your needs and one of the ways to do that is by checking out reviews and recommendations.

Here you will find the best models that receive good consumer ratings compared to many other models.

Coleman

Coleman is definitely my first choice when i'm out camping with the kids. They have a large range which i've found affordable.

Coleman are one of the best brands available, for coolers. You may find cheaper makes but for the extra cash you will have quality and find reviews stating they perform well and keeps the food/drink, well cool...

Here's a great Coleman selection..

Coleman 54-Quart Cooler

The Coleman 54-Quart Stainless Steel Belted Cooler is one of my favorite outdoor coolers and it also looks great.

This model was first on the market in 1954 and still sells very well. It's what we would call retro.

This unit is made from stainless steel and is one of the most durable coolers I've seen. It also has handles made from stainless steel with rubber that provides a good grip when carrying. It's advertised as storing up to 85 cans but I think you will want food alongside can's of beer.

Consumer reviews/ratings: Reviews and ratings for this model and very positive, with most users giving it 5 out of 5 star ratings which is encouraging.

Cost: This Coleman cooler cost's around $160 or more depending where you buy from. Amazon (link to page provided to the above right) is the cheapest i've found.

Overall Ratings:

Coleman 70-Quart Xtreme Cooler

The Coleman 70-Quart Xtreme is a larger unit than the stainless steel model but it is much cheaper.

This is ideal for those searching for camping coolers that have a large family and don't want to spend to much money. It holds up to 98 cans and ice. A channel is fitted to make drainage easy without having to tilt the unit. These are available in different sizes measured in Quart.

Consumer reviews/ratings: Reviews and ratings for this cooler and very similar to the stainless steel model and their is a very small amount of negative comment's made. Again, users are giving it 5 out of 5 star ratings.

Cost: This unit cost's around $50, and the best price again I found at Amazon (link to page provided to the above right) is the cheapest.

Coleman 62-Quart Xtreme Wheeled Cooler

This 62-Quart model is similar to the other Coleman Xtreme models, with the added convenience of having wheels to transport to the car and campsite easier.

This holds up to 85 cans of beverage's and has 4 drink holders on the top. It has a handle that helps to pull the wheeled camping cooler wherever it needs to go.

This unit is ideal for those that really don't want to hump a normal cooler about.

Consumer reviews/ratings: Again Reviews and ratings are very good like the above models and people who have bought it are giving it 5 out of 5 star ratings.

Cost: I've checked prices around the top camp store supplier sites and the best price was again from Amazon for around $50.

Other Brands And Models

I've included these other coolers below from brands other than Coleman. The above models would be my first choices, especially for family or car camping.

Igloo Island Breeze 28-Quart Roller Model

The Igloo Island Breeze isn't a huge cooler with large storage space, however, for shorter trips or smaller families it's a great option.

This is another wheeled type that has a telescopic handle which is useful for storage. It stores up to 37 cans making it in between a small and large sized cooled.

Consumer reviews/ratings: Reviews are very positive for this Igloo cooler with nearly every consumer giving it 5 out of a 5 star ratings.

Cost: You can pick on of these up for under $40.

Overall Ratings:

Igloo Playmate Max16

I have included the Playmate for those searching for a small day cooler. This is great to be used for day trips, day hiking away from the campground or any other outdoor activities.

The capacity is up to 16 beverage cans and weighs only 1lb, making it light and easy enough to carry. It features a insulated storage section in compartment at the top.

Consumer reviews/ratings: Reviews are very positive and consumer rating are mainly 4 or 5 stars out of a possible 5. People are using these for all sorts of day activities and most say it's a great lunch box that keeps the food cool.

Cost: These can be bought for around $20 or less.
